CIS celebrated National Gymnastics Day
It is National Gymnastics Day today, an unofficial celebration of the graceful sport that tests everything from physical strength to agility to balance and coordination.
National Gymnastics Day was created in 1998 in the United States as a way to promote the sport among young people and to honour the sportspeople, coaches, and clubs who have kept the gymnastic tradition alive and thriving for centuries.
Dipa Karmakar is the first Indian female gymnast ever to compete in the Olympics, and the first Indian gymnast to do so in 52 years. Karmakar is one of only five women who have successfully landed the Produnova, the most difficult vault currently performed in women’s gymnastics.
Students of Grade 1 and 2 tried their hand in the basic gymnastics and had a great time doing so.
