Padma Shri Awardee Tom Alter Bestowing Theatrical Skills Upon Chitkara International School Students

Another interactive session at Chitkara International School enthralled the CIS students; Padma Shri Awardee, famous theatre and Bollywood actor Mr. Tom Alter visited the school campus on 27th November 2013. Mr. Alter visited the school for Change the Game session. Change the game is CIS’s new learning initiative; where the school invites prominent educationists, leaders, entrepreneurs, actors and professionals who have actually made a mark in their respective industries. This session allows our students to interact with these prominent personalities and try to know how they have dared to change the game. An hour long session by Mr. Alter inspired the students on theatre skills. Students got engrossed with his thoughts and his great speech. He suggested kids to identify their core competencies and interests so that they can opt for their careers in future. Those who follow their dreams make it big in life, ideally there are role models but role models are just the inspirations. “Your hardwork, firmness, steadiness and consistency will pay you in future”, he added. Commenting on the interactive session, Ms. Niyati Chitkara, the Principal of CIS said, “It’s really important to know how these great personalities have managed to leave an everlasting impact and learning in the mind of people. It is said that people who make it big in life dare to look beyond the boundaries or reframe the boundaries themselves. They make rules and people follow. It’s really amazing an inspiring to hear from Mr. Tom Alter how he has evolved in years as a great artist, writer, performer and a Padma Shri awardee. A true inspiration for our school children indeed! ”
