“Imprints-Season 2″ marked at Chitkara International School

The premises of Chitkara International School, Sector 25, witnessed the second edition of its annual flagship event – Imprints’14. It was organized by the school in collaboration with WORDZ – the debating society. About 25 teams from city schools participated with full gusto and fervour, in what turned out to be an extravagant challenge of knowledge, aptitude and spontaneity.

Imprints’14 had students of classes 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 participating in two simultaneous events – Inquizzitive and Decode, respectively. The quiz competition, which was held for the younger age group was based on the ‘Jeopardy’ format, which involved question selection by the teams as per the points required for the top spot. Each set of questions were valued differently.

Simultaneously, another competition which was testing the navigation and knowledge of the students was ‘Decode’. This was a treasure hunt for classes 6 to 8 based on the theme ‘Around the worlld’. The geography based hunt kept the children on their toes as they made their way through the school premises, hunting for their clues and cues. This second round of Decode involved a circuit with hurdles based on the same theme.

Both the sub-events were aptly able to stimulate the cognitive and analytical skills of the children, in the process testing their aptitude, general knowledge, vocabulary et al, while adding the most important ingredient of the event, the element of fun! The activities also encouraged the feeling of team work and bonding among the kids.

Dr. Niyati Chitkara, Principal, Chitkara International School appreciated the efforts and hard-work of all the students. She emphasised and urged the education fraternity to share, appreciate and encourage the good practices and also give as much exposure and experience to the students as it’s possible.
