A very proud moment for CIS as delegation from Chitkara International School represented the school and India at Model United Nations Conference organized by Stanford University, California, USA from 15-17 November 2013. Team from CIS comprising of 5 students and 2 teachers was the only team from India. Stanford University is world renowned for its top-tier academics and leading faculty, but it is also the heart of Silicon Valley where the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation thrives. SMUNC 2013 redefined the MUN experience with new additions while maintaining eclectic combination of stellar General Assembly (GA) committees and thrilling crisis-based committees. Stanford Model United Nations (SMUNC) is one of the most unique and prestigious high school conferences in the world as it is one of very few conferences where every committee is crisis-driven.

The conference experienced participation from over 400 students from all over the world and it was a moment of pride for us as the performance of our students was brilliant. CIS students were praised at the conference for their innovative and fun way of handling crises committees at the conference, which really challenged the delegates to think on their feet instead of sticking to prepared research. The delegation got a chance to experience various cultures and interact with students and faculty from all over the world. It was indeed an amazing learning experience for the students and teachers.
