“Can You Teach a Zebra Some Algebra?” – The alchemy of learning decoded at Chitkara International School

Chitkara International School proudly hosted a session “Can You Teach a Zebra Some Algebra?” by Professor Debashis Chatterjee for the school leaders, teachers and the education fraternity. Professor Debashis Chatterjee is the Director of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) – Kozhikode, a leadership coach and an eminent author. Professor Debashis Chatterjee has taught leadership classes at Harvard University and at the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM), Calcutta, Lucknow, and Kozhikode for nearly two decades. He has currently trained more than 11,000 school principals, students at Harvard University and 15000 managers globally in Fortune 100 corporations

Dr. Debashis Chatterjee conducted this inspirational and thought provoking session based on his latest book “Can You Teach a Zebra Some Algebra’’ for the faculty members of Chitkara International School and the educators of tricity. Dr. Chatterjee who is an author of many books like Timeless Leadership, Leading Consciously, Break Free spoke about leadership in school and role of teacher in the current scenario. He used various innovative teaching methods such as story-based moral building and experimental sessions that are unique and universally. Professor also highlighted the teacher’s role in the success of a student and the school, the changing role which a teacher is supposed to assume. He stressed that true education is about achieving mastery – it is about perfecting ourselves. Our mission in life is therefore to create and to give birth to our true genius – something that we are born to do. All the attendees’ appraised this one of its kind session by the IIM Kozhikode director.
