NATYA – The Museum of Dance

Chitkara International School, known for its innovative and out of the box initiatives celebrated its 5thAnnual Function“Natya – The Museum of Dance”. The annual show was three days grandeur where the Coliseum Theatre (Auditorium) was transformed into an airplane: Chitkara Airlines (Flight No. 108). The audience boarded the flight of excitement and were transported on the journey to Natya – The Museum of Dance”, which showcased the origin and evolution of dance forms of the world over the centuries. More than 1000 studentsparticipated in this 3-day theme based journey of dance which not only entertained the audience but also educated the students about how and when was dance originated. Chief Guest for the Day 1 – Mr. Kamlesh Kumar, HCS, DPI (Schools), Department of Education, Chandigarh Administration applauded the efforts of the students and teachers. He said, “All the aspects of the show starting from the invitation card, the main gate setup, stage set, costumes, music, and dances were outstanding and in complete sync with each other. Congratulations to all the students and school authorities for the success.” Mr. Rajiv Gupta, PCS, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest for Day 2 of the annual function and Mr. V. K. Singh, IAS, Finance Secretary, Chandigarh Administration was the Chief guest for the final day of the annual event. Announcing the curtain to be dropped the Principal, Mrs. NiyatiChitkara thanked the Chief Guest and the parents. . Commenting on the unique theme of “Natya” for the annual show, she said that dance is undoubtedly a way of expressing joy in anyone’s life, but it is equally important for the students to know the evolution of dance forms. We have always tried to embed learning in a fun filled manner. Thus, we clubbed knowledge in our annual show.
