International Recognition by British Council
In its sturdy endeavour to foster an awareness of international ethos throughout the school, Chitkara International School (CIS) constantly embeds collaborative, curriculum-based work/activities with a number of international partner schools that impart international exposure to Chitkarians. This effort of imparting inter-cultural international education was recognised by the venerated British Council and Chitkara International School was thus accredited with International Dimension in Schools 2019-2022 for “Outstanding Development of International Dimension” in the Curriculum. The British Council International Dimension in Schools (IDS), having a presence in 31 countries, is a benchmarking scheme that accredits schools with an outstanding level of support for nurturing global citizenship in young people and enriching teaching and learning. IDS awards are a recognition and celebration of exemplary practices of internationalism in schools – in both the curriculum and values held by students and teachers.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about civic and current affairs, effective communication, global issues and multilateral diplomacy. In standard Model UN, participants research their designated country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult and then develop solutions to world problems.
CIS students have participated in the Stanford Model United Nations (SMUNC), which is one of the unique high school conferences in the world. It is one of very few conferences where every committee is crisis-driven.
The CIS students have also attended Boston University Academy Model United Nations Conference (BUAMUN). BUAMUN is a Model United Nations Conference for middle school-aged students (11-14) which provides a wonderful experience and a unique insight into high school Model UN.
The curriculum and faculty at CIS demonstrate the international and multi-cultural focus of our academic program. With a vision of rendering pragmatic exposure to its students, they visit various countries such as Switzerland, London and USA under “School Immersion Program”. These elevating globalized cultural and academic exchange programs; act like a complete comprehensive learning platform for Chitkara students. On the other hand, International conferences and symposia offer more opportunities for students and faculty to keep up with global advances in management. Faculty and students actively participate in various conferences to keep themselves updated with the learning and research findings.
In the ever-increasing competitive world, there is a greater need than ever before for our kids to be educated and trained for their future careers and businesses. This begins by giving them industry experiences, interactions with experts making them understand various subjects/fields better and inspiring them for their future. Our students participate in various Career Exploratory Programs internationally which includes workshops & sessions with a top professional from Broadway, Kennedy Space Centre, NASA, MIT, Harvard University, etc.

Global Week is a footprint of Global Engagement at Chitkara International School and Chitkara University and one of the best ways of Internationalizing the student learning experience. This event serves as a catalyst for infusing cross-cultural competence, knowledge transfer as well as networking among faculty. In this event, eminent faculty members are invited from across the world to teach predetermined short module courses. Besides offering invaluable networking between local and visiting faculty, one of the objectives of this event is to provide a global environment to keep Chitkara students informed about the dynamics of International education and to raise their global awareness. Our students experience stimulating interactive sessions with visiting Professors from its partner Universities from around the world. They also gain competence towards becoming global learners as they witness unprecedented pedagogical styles during the five days of their participation in the event.

This co-operation network will form the basis of global education & career opportunities for Chitkara students. Thus various workshops, sessions, programmes and career counselling sessions are organized with which the students are placed on the right education path. We successfully use technology tools like Webinars, Skype sessions, and online courses in order to connect and give exposure to superlative minds across the globe. Online courses offer students the opportunity to participate in class discussions with more ease than face-to-face class sessions. The school indulges into topic wise revised sessions and programs which functions in collaboration with various universities and schools. Contemporary experts from varied fields allocate their prospects and ideas through several Skype sessions and webinars in a fruitful way. As students learn to navigate between different learning management systems (LMS) and programs they develop/enhance various computer skills. These skills translate to varied professions, including creating and sharing documents, incorporating audio/video materials into assignments, completing online training sessions, etc.

TEDxYouthDay is a series of TEDx events that happen all around the world coinciding with Universal Children’s Day. TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “Ideas Worth Spreading”. This platform was designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experience at the local level. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design. At our TEDxYouth event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. With this platform the school students get an exposure to different ideas evolving around them and are inspired to think out of the box.
Chitkara International School is the designated Indian partner to the University of Delaware, U.S.A as their Pitch Event Host for Diamond Challenge. The Diamond Challenge was created in 2012 to empower the next generation through entrepreneurship. It is the world’s premier entrepreneurship competition for rising teen stars and innovators and offers a $100,000 award pool each year, that student winners may use to either fund their venture or as scholarships. Diamond Challenge has had more than 7,000 students from 40+ countries participate since 2013.
In its endeavour to enable students towards a career of the future, Chitkara International School in association with Deakin University, Australia hosts series of experiential studios in new study areas with a focus on international career opportunities every year for High school students of the region. These experiential studios are conducted by subject experts from Deakin University, Australia.
