Bus Staff Development Session

School buses are the safest vehicles on the road. This safety record is the result of the interaction among several items — the design and construction of the school bus; the operating condition of the bus; the planning of the school bus route; the location of the loading zones; and, the school bus staff. The role of the school bus staff in ensuring the safe transportation of children to and from school and school-related activities is as important as any other link in the school transportation safety chain. Keeping the same in mind and as part of the continuous development sessions planned for the bus drivers, conductors and attendants at Chitkara International School, Dr. Niyati Chitkara, Principal, Chitkara International School facilitated one such session. The session focussed on how to communicate with children and parents, how to guide and assist the students while getting on and off the bus, importance of taking attendance in the bus and last but not the least to follow all the traffic rules and set a great example for the students
