Chitkara International School sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development

Chitkara International School, Chandigarh and Panchkula along with Chitkara University, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (UNESCO MGIEP) to promote sustainable practices and uphold the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The collaboration will focus on attaining the UN Sustainable Development Target 4.7, which is to foster peaceful and sustainable societies worldwide through education. The UNESCO MGIEP actively engages in developing programmes that promote social and emotional learning (SEL), innovative digital technologies, and youth empowerment. The MoU, signed by the Pro-Chancellor of Chitkara University, Dr Madhu Chitkara, the Director of Chitkara International School, Dr Niyati Chitkara, and the Associate Director & Principal of Chitkara International School, Dr Honey Chitkara, will shed light on the Sustainable Developmental Goals and encourage students to participate in sustainability-promoting initiatives and activities.

Bringing waves of positivity and promise, Chitkara International School, Chandigarh and Panchkula, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development here in Chandigarh. The promising MoU was signed in the presence of the venerable Dr Niyati Chitkara, Director, Chitkara International School, Chandigarh and Panchkula, and the esteemed Dr Honey Chitkara, Principal, Chitkara International School, Chandigarh and Associate Director, Chitkara International School, Chandigarh and Panchkula, and Ms Ammaarah Martinus, Senior Programme Officer and Dr Richa Banal, National Project Officer.

The enterprising synergy would not only help further the culture of “sustainability” but also help shed light on the all-important Sustainable Developmental Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations General Assembly and help students understand why the attainment of these goals through joint efforts at all levels remains imperative for mankind and the ultimate health of the planet.
