Swachh Survekshan
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) under Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (SBM-U) with Quality Council of India (QCI) as its implementation partner in a bid to scale up the coverage of the ranking exercise and encourage towns and cities to actively implement mission initiatives in a timely and innovative manner, conducts, Swachh Survekshan, an annual survey of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in cities and towns across India. Furthermore, “Swachh Survekshan” was launched in January 2016 to assess the sanitation and solid waste management status as well as to make India clean and free of open defecation.
CIS’s Endeavour to Promulgate “Swachhta”
Chitkara International School, Chandigarh, accomplishing the objective of the survey, which was to ensure the sustainability of initiatives taken towards garbage-free and open defecation-free schools to provide credible outcomes and to create awareness about the importance of working together to make towns and cities more habitable and sustainable, has been remarkably awarded the 2nd position under the Private School, Swachh Ranking. Indeed, the school duly emphasises promoting safe and appropriate hygiene practices, especially through its green initiatives.
Apart from this, in furtherance of the school’s enduring and resolute allegiance towards safeguarding the overall wellbeing of the learners and its assiduous personnel, the school follows various functional and efficacious procedures that perpetually maintain and guarantee the safety of its members in the school premises.
